OSCARS Red-Carpet

Overall there wasn't much surprise on last night's Oscars red carpet. I was hoping there would be alot of standout dresses, but only a few caught my attention. The rest seemed like they were dressing for a lesser event. At the Oscars, the biggest red carpet of the year, I would have expected much more fashion risks and glamour.
HITS

These lovely celebs definitely pushed the envelope and delivered wonderful looks last night. Red carpet newbie, Anna, loved amazing in this beautifully draped Elie Saab gown. The soft color, the hint of lace in the slit, and her overall look was just perfect.
Demi Moore looked 20 years younger in this well crafted Versace gown. The color against her olive skin tone really suits her well. She looked 10 times better than most celebs half her age did!
Zoe Salanda wore the Givenchy gown that I was dying for someone to wear to the Oscars; and it had that wow factor for sure! Not many can pull off such a high fashion look but zoe certainly did.
Rachael McAdams is one of my favorite actresses and one of my favorite style icons as she always looks so classic and cool. This Elie Saab floral gown just flows like water down the red carpet. Her pulled back hair and dewy makeup matches perfectly with the all overall effect as well. She just looks so effortless and regal.

MISSES

I usually adore everything Charlize and Diane wear, so I am really quite shocked at how far they missed the mark. Charlize's dress is the wrong color, material and those two rosettes at her bust do her no good. Diane's dress has too much going on and really doesn't flatter her slim figure at all. As for Miley, its no surprise she's on this list. Though her Jenny Packham gown is cute, it seems too tight on her and to plain for the Oscar red carpet; maybe if it was in a different color or a little more fuller?

ALMOST THERE

These ladies looked great, but something seemed a little off. JLO's Armani Prive gown is beautifully made, I just wish it wasn't so heavy on that ones side (like the version Amanda Seyfried wore). SJP wore one of my favorite looks from the Chanel couture runway, but it didn't seem age appropriate for her; not to mention it kinda shallowed her up a bit. And Cameron Diaz looked stunning in her Oscar De La Renta dress but I feel like this is a look we've seen before on the red carpet; love her hair though (much better than last year's hot mess!).

DISAPPOINTED

Best Actress Winner Sandra Bullock (yay!) seemed a little stiff in her delicate Marchesa gown. The whole look appears to be a too pretty for her. I liked seeing Sandra in more edgier designers like Alexander McQueen, so I am left a tad disappointed. Maggie wore a tropical Dries Van Noten gown that would probably work better on a movie premiere red carpet than the Oscars; just too simple and easy going for my taste.
