Golden Globes 2012: Style Standouts

Last night was the Golden Globes, a night of power house celeb couples, expected and unexpected winners, a surprisingly tame host, and a red carpet unlike any other. Stars stepped up their game and we saw plenty of beautiful gowns, many in creamy and darker colors. Here are the ones that stood out!

Clooney's Better Half

Stacy Keibler (10/10):

Classic, stunning, perfect hair/makeup

Cream Confection

Kate Beckinsale (8/10):

A little too bridal, great shape, I wish her hair was down

All Choked Up

Heidi Klum (7/10):

Great color combination, needs support up top, fantastic hair

Foreign Beauty

Freida Pinto (8/10):

Love the color, too much volume in the skirt, perfect minimal jewelry

In a Galaxy Far Far Away...

Kelly Osbourne (5/10):

Horrible hair (color especially), good dress shape minus the shoulders, looks like a comforter

Lots of Lace

Jessica Biel (8/10):

Great in theory, too much prissy appeal, she looks beautiful regardless

A Laser's Edge

Dianna Agron (4/10):

love the detail but too much of it, doesn't fit well, lovely hair

Back in Business

Nicole Kidman (12/10):

Versace + Nicole = great new friendship, amazing gold studs against light gray, rockin bod

Un-Vogue

Madonna (2/10):

horrid satin craft project on skirt, bad colors, unnecessary glove, pumped up arms are scary

Ice Queen

Tilda Swinton (20/10):

LOVE, fabulous hue against pale skin and hair, minimally dramatic at its best!

The New Girl

Zooey Deschanel (8/10):

Love her risk taking in Prada, great 60's hair, strangely appealing but I'd never wear it

The Lady in Black

Rooney Mara (10/10):

True to her dark minimal style, great neckline, looks super comfortable

Big Bird

Paula Patton (5/10):

WAY too bright, typical overdone dress shape, great body though

Sparking Starlet

Shailene Woodley (15/20):

simply gorgeous, perfect shape for her tall frame, style newcomer stuns

Scene Stealer

Lea Michelle (4/10):

Diva needs to rein it in style and pose wise, love the dress bottom, in need of softer hair/makeup

Crazy, Stunning, LOVE

Emma Stone (10/10):

Can never go wrong in Lanvin, super awesome belt, two-tone color works with her red hair

Purple Perfection

Madeleine Stowe (15/20):

Love her in Revenge and in this dress, fits wonderfully, hair and extra add-ons are spot on

Smash Hit

Katherine Mcphee (8/10):

Almost perfect but wish it were longer, great material and details, a pop of color needed

Model Looks

Elle MacPherson (10/10):

Zac Posen dress is sexy and unique, love the piping seams and the tulle skirt, too much volume in hair though

Stepped Up Style

Jenna Dewson (9/10):

Adore the teal color!, neckline a tad too low, super cute and refreshing

Blue Valentine

Michelle Williams (25/10):

Favorite of the night by far, always true to her style, velvet and headband are unexpected in a good way

Let Me See Your Peacock

Evan Rachel Wood (8/10):

Great shape and low neckline, a little too much plumage, colors are wonderfully artistic

Pretty in Pink

Charlize Theron (9/10):

Divine creamy pink, the headband and waist detail is stunning, take off the side pouf bow thing

Roses are Red,....

Angelina Jolie (6/10):

Dislike the silk fabric, terrible color combination against her pale skin, fits her great though

People's Choice Awards 2012

Fashion Victims

Demi Lavoto: Demi has never impressed me on the red carpet. This look says "I'm trying too hard". The bodice is too tight and the color too pale for her complexion. I like the hairstyle, but the makeup is way severe.

Kelly Osbourne: First of all, that hair color is sooo last year. I understand that Kelly likes to make a fashion statement with her outfits but this one doesn't translate. It's a pretty dress, but not award show appropriate and a little dowdy in my opinion.

The Gents

Zachary Levi and Paul Wesley looked delicious last night. Zach pulls off his whimsical suit nicely and Paul makes causal look expensive. Got to love their hair as well!

Middle Ground

Lucy Hale: Too much is going on with Lucy's black gown. The long strip of fabric bothers me. Either the dress is long or it's short, pick a side. I do like the texture and sparkle and it fits her good, but with this edgy of a look, she should have pulled her hair back.

Ashley Greene: I saw alot of lace and leather at this awards show, some good, some ehhh. Ashley's mini is a little of both. I love the shape of the dress and the flared skirt, but the lace part bothers me. It would have been boring without that detail, but maybe a hint of color would have be better.

Lea Michelle: I got to say when I first saw this look, I was excited that Lea got it completely right for once. But then the camera panned down to the bottom half of her dress. It's just too much and too costumey. White looks great on her and I love the hair/makeup, but the overflow of fringe is overwhelming.

Jennifer Morrison: This look is almost perfect, minus the cinnamon bun hairdo. I actually like the bottom tassels on the skirt, it makes it interesting. And the top half is so beautifully intricate.

Vanessa Hudgens: I love this dress! Most peopel probably won't, but I found the dark vintage, spider-webby look very refreshing and unique. The halter element is cool and the hint of gold shimmer is divine. But once again, the hairdo fails. Too vampy.

Home Runs

Chloe Moretz: LOVE. Everything this girl wears I adore. The colors are great, the length is perfection and the shoe choice is spot on. Somehow she manages to look grown-up but still her age at the same time. Magic.

Kaley Cuoco: Ok, so in this picture her hair looks a tad overdone, but on television it looked fine to me. But onto her dress. I love the creamy hue and the little petal details. One of her many good looks from last night.

Whitney Cummings: I didn't see the bottom half of this look, but from the waist up it's wonderful. I love emerald green and when you add sequins, it's perfect. Plus her hair/makeup is great as well.

Miley Cyrus: I got to say, I am actually loving Miley's look for once! You can't really tell from this picture, but her dress also has an almost rainbow effect on the back, which is super cool against the creamy white of the front. The length is great and those pink pointy toe pumps? Amazing! The boobs are contained, the hair/makeup flawless....good job Miley. And your beau looks great too :)

Kristen Bell: This was a leather and lace combo that I adored. Red is such a standout color on Kristen and the a-line skirt is fun. I like the sheer material over the lace, so that the dress isn't soo crazy. And of course her gold tipped heels are just stunning.
