People's Choice Awards 2012

Fashion Victims

Demi Lavoto: Demi has never impressed me on the red carpet. This look says "I'm trying too hard". The bodice is too tight and the color too pale for her complexion. I like the hairstyle, but the makeup is way severe.

Kelly Osbourne: First of all, that hair color is sooo last year. I understand that Kelly likes to make a fashion statement with her outfits but this one doesn't translate. It's a pretty dress, but not award show appropriate and a little dowdy in my opinion.

The Gents

Zachary Levi and Paul Wesley looked delicious last night. Zach pulls off his whimsical suit nicely and Paul makes causal look expensive. Got to love their hair as well!

Middle Ground

Lucy Hale: Too much is going on with Lucy's black gown. The long strip of fabric bothers me. Either the dress is long or it's short, pick a side. I do like the texture and sparkle and it fits her good, but with this edgy of a look, she should have pulled her hair back.

Ashley Greene: I saw alot of lace and leather at this awards show, some good, some ehhh. Ashley's mini is a little of both. I love the shape of the dress and the flared skirt, but the lace part bothers me. It would have been boring without that detail, but maybe a hint of color would have be better.

Lea Michelle: I got to say when I first saw this look, I was excited that Lea got it completely right for once. But then the camera panned down to the bottom half of her dress. It's just too much and too costumey. White looks great on her and I love the hair/makeup, but the overflow of fringe is overwhelming.

Jennifer Morrison: This look is almost perfect, minus the cinnamon bun hairdo. I actually like the bottom tassels on the skirt, it makes it interesting. And the top half is so beautifully intricate.

Vanessa Hudgens: I love this dress! Most peopel probably won't, but I found the dark vintage, spider-webby look very refreshing and unique. The halter element is cool and the hint of gold shimmer is divine. But once again, the hairdo fails. Too vampy.

Home Runs

Chloe Moretz: LOVE. Everything this girl wears I adore. The colors are great, the length is perfection and the shoe choice is spot on. Somehow she manages to look grown-up but still her age at the same time. Magic.

Kaley Cuoco: Ok, so in this picture her hair looks a tad overdone, but on television it looked fine to me. But onto her dress. I love the creamy hue and the little petal details. One of her many good looks from last night.

Whitney Cummings: I didn't see the bottom half of this look, but from the waist up it's wonderful. I love emerald green and when you add sequins, it's perfect. Plus her hair/makeup is great as well.

Miley Cyrus: I got to say, I am actually loving Miley's look for once! You can't really tell from this picture, but her dress also has an almost rainbow effect on the back, which is super cool against the creamy white of the front. The length is great and those pink pointy toe pumps? Amazing! The boobs are contained, the hair/makeup flawless....good job Miley. And your beau looks great too :)

Kristen Bell: This was a leather and lace combo that I adored. Red is such a standout color on Kristen and the a-line skirt is fun. I like the sheer material over the lace, so that the dress isn't soo crazy. And of course her gold tipped heels are just stunning.

RED-CARPET: People's Choice Awards 2010

2010 started off with a bang with the People's Choice Awards and in honor of that I thought I give out my own awards for the red carpet.
"Best Dressed" went to Carrie Underwood in a unique and eye catching Christian Cota netted dress complete with wrapped heels and the prefect styled hair-do. She just looks so put together and polished, something we don't often see on the red carpet.
"Worst Dressed" and fashion mess went to Demi Lavoto. The dress, while a pretty color, looks tasteless and cheap and the silver choker doesn't do it any justice either. She just looks like she is trying to hard:(
"Most Improved" goes to Jessica Alba in this trendy Antonio Berardi mini and amazing sky high
braided heels. Jessica has lost her style mojo these past years but it looks like she found it at last on this red carpet!
"Cute but we have seen it before" award goes to Taylor Swift. The Jenny Packham mini is so adorable on her with those silver peep toes and red lips, but I feel like she wears this look all the time on the red carpet. We all know Taylor like her sparkle, and her white dresses but it would be nice to see her in something unexpected like a bright color. If anyone can pull off a risky look, it would be miss country queen herself:)
"Style Veteran" award goes to Diane Kruger in this white body con Herve Leger dress. While many celebs love this designer and his dresses are seen all over the red carpet, Daine makes it different and all her own. Her bandage heels, and black accessories turns this sexy dress into something more fashion forward. Diane is a style star in her own right (see my post on her fashion) and other starlets should take a cue from her style skills.

RED-CARPET: TEEN CHOICE AWARDS

HITS

Ashley Tisdale wore a stunning corset topped Used/Unused mini, Vanessa Hudgens dazzled in Christian Dior that was altered into a bubble skirt, Kristen Stewart edged out all the competition in Rock & Republic, and Fergie showed off some leg in Marc Jacobs. All these ladies looked amazing, but Ashley wins for me because of her rocker meets chic style.

MISSES

All of these celebs disappointed in some some way: Kristen Bell wore this fall's new trend, the jumpsuit, but looked too stiff in black for the Teen Choice Awards; with the exception of her new hair color, Kim Kardashian pretty much looked like she always does; Miley Cyrus tried WAY too hard, piling on too many chains and looking too causal for the red carpet; and Amanda Bynes failed to impress in her typical ensemble of a Herve Leger Bandage mini and black pumps. Amanda is the worst dressed for me, mainly because she never takes any fashion risks.

MOST IMPROVED

Audrina Patridge usually dresses without much style savvy, wearing your typical mini and fake tan, but she surprised everyone Sunday in a stunning Zuhair Murad dress paired with a beaded choker and too die for bright blue heels. Britney Spears equally delights with a hip hugging Roberto Cavalli LBD and strappy heels. Even though her hair needs some work, Britney has never looked better!
