Teen Choice Awards 2011: Red Carpet Score Board

Tyra Banks: 0/10

2 words: No Comment

Kim K: 2/10

Kim needs to realize that she's in her thirties now and soon to be married woman. So there is no need to dress like you're three at her age. The mini feather skirt was in trend for like 2 seconds 2 years ago, plus the unflattering halter top is just confusing. Love the pointy toes though (dislike that they're black).

Zooey Deschanel: 3/10

Don't even know what to say. First off I love Zooey (can't wait for her new show!), and I totally
understand her quirky cute style sense, but this outfit is just soooo boring. A mumsy dress to a hip awards show what? And those god awful shoes (I think they're Miu Miu..), make her feet look like hoofs.

Selena Gomez: 4/10

This is so sad for me because I usually really like what Selena wears. But her look tonight just didn't go together at all. The dress looks cheap and the mix match of similar colors (what color is that even?) is weird. I like that she added a pop of purple with her clutch but it far from saves this outfit. And don't even get me started on those Bakers ish heels.

Rachel Bilson: 5/10

Okay let me begin by saying everyone has there off days. Even a stylish star like Rachel (one of my style icons in fact) mess it up every once in a while. The pretty-ness of the white frock doesn't pair well with the spiked nude booties. There needed some sort of color somewhere. This look had no vision behind it. But at least she finally styled her hair ha

Ashley Greene: 5/10

Proportions is one of the most important aspects of styling a stunning outfit, and that's where Ashley went wrong tonight. The length of the white top (is that a top?) doesn't flatter her hip area and the pencil skirt is both boring and very "out" in the fashion world. I get that she was probably going for the whole "minimalistic" approach, but it looks more "secretary at a meeting" to me. This is an awards show for Pete's sake.

Demi Lavato: 6/10

Yes Demi does look a whole lot better than she has in years, but at some point you just have to put the tanning spray down. The citrus colors make her almost orange skin tone stand out even more. Plus the Miss America hair is way too New Jersey Housewife for my taste. That being said, I do love the lace dress and coordinating bright pumps.

Nikki Reed: 7/10

I actually think Nikki looks better than ever in this boho inspired 70's printed dress. Typically her red carpet looks are quite boring and uninspired but this draped maxi is perfect for her olive skin tone and build. Great hair as well. The only thing though is that she kind of looks more suited for a Hampton's beach party than a LA awards show.

Zoe Saldana: 8/10

Love Zoe! But I loved her slightly (only slightly) less tonight. I'm not a fan of mixing metallics so the silverish dress and the gold pumps threw me off. BUT, I adore the length and the style of the dress and the fun belt. Also her hair is perfectly done as usual. Being one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood seems to have it perks.

Taylor Swift: 9/10

Taylor has a formula that she's perfected to the tee: sparkly, white, red lip, floral and flouncy is her motto. And I'm still buying it. People may say she's one note (which I agree with pertaining to her music!), but her style is flawless IMO. I love the a-line skirt and slight crystal detail in the belt. Simple and stunning.

Kaley Cuoco: 10/10

Love this head to toe! Kaley is the dark horse in red carpet fashion. People don't realize it, but she has such great taste when it comes to dressing to the nines. I would totally wear this dress, and I love how simply elegant yet trendy it is with all the tiers. Amazing hair and perfect makeup make this host stake her ground for sure.

Fergie: 15/10

Okay, most folks may not understand Fergie crazy wacky style but I happen to love it. She always changes her look up and delightfully surprises me every red carpet event. Her killer legs are showcased in this quirky D&G star mini (who says you can't wear a mini past 30?). She was one of the only stars (no pun intended) who had fun with their ensemble. Pointy toes (my current shoe weakness) and tamed hair complete this stunning look.

Blake Lively: 20/10

Leo or no Leo, Blake is one fashion powerhouse. Looking regal beyond her youthful years, Blake stuns once again in this delightful orange dress and leopard printed pointy toe heels (a trend it seems tonight). The mix of color and print is spot on (again, no pun intended haha), and her shiny hair is divine. She is my front runner as usual.

Brits to Watch Red Carpet Event 2011

This was one star studded night as everyone from Ms. Kidman to Gossip Girl Blake arrived on the red carpet in high style. But the most A-list attendee of the evening were royal newlyweds, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (AKA: William and Kate). Below I rate the celebs' looks.

Tea Length Vintage

Zooey Deschanel in Oscar de la Renta : 9/10

Love the short flirtier hemline and the matchy satin of the heels. Snow White hair completes this fairytale look.

McQueen For a Day

Duchess Catherine in McQueen: 10/10

Such a divine color! Simple, comfortable and stunning describes this look. Just wish she did something different with her hair.

Grecian Goddess

Blake Lively in Marchesa: 9/10

While I think Blake looks amazing in this one-shoulder number, I feel like she keeps doing the same look: long, flowy and bejeweled. Love that she's a blonde again however!

In the Nude

Leslie Mann in L'Wren Scott: 3/10

Okay so don't even get me started on this attire. Maybe she thought her tan was darker than the dress, or maybe she thought the under lining was the actual dress. Either way, wearing your skin tone isn't cool. Squint your eyes and it appears like Leslie has nothing on or is an air brushed Barbie.

Bronze Diva

Kristin Chenoweth in BCBG Max Azria: 15/10

Always a fan of Kristin's big personality and singing voice, I now can say that her look matches that superstar quality about her. It's not easy to pull off bronze without looking cheap, but Miss Broadway does so with absolute ease. Love the shape it gives her petite frame and the glam-ified sleek hair.

Super Size Me

Jennifer Garner: 2/10

I am usually a huge fan of Jennifer's red carpet style (typically provided by Rachel Zoe). But for this event she just looks sad in an over-size ill fitting gown. She picked the right color in navy, but a chunky peep-toe, saggy mid section and been-there-done-that hair brings this whole look down.

Body-Con Cuts

JLo in Emilio Pucci: 8/10

This sexy look screams for attention, but while I like the idea of it's serpent queen quality, JLo doesn't quite pull it off. We all know that she has a killer body for someone of her age, but to constantly throw that info in our faces every red carpet is getting old (pun intended). And long sleeves in the summer? no excuse.

Feeling Blue

Gugu Mbatha-Raw in Reem Acra: 20/10

This is one of my favorite looks of the night. Olivia Wilde wore a similar shape Reem Acra gown to the Golden Globes a couple years back but Gugu takes it to a new level in majestic cobalt blue. I have a fashion weakness for cap-sleeves and draped jersey, so this gown is heaven. Simple hair and pearl drop earrings complete her stunning look.

All Buttoned Up

Elizabeth Banks in Versace: 5/10

Don't get me wrong, I love a good Versace showstopper. But this white gown stopped me for the wrong reasons. First of all, the buttons on the shoulder is weird and the gold-on-gold accessories is too much. It's just seems like this would have worked as a shorter dress for a more causal event. Plus that side ponytail is too "young" for mature Versace any day.

Icy in Elie

Nicole Kidman in Elie Saab: 10/10

Recently Nicole has been "missing" in the red carpet style department, but this lovely look puts her back on top in my opinion. The pale blue is the perfect compliment against her creamy skin tone and subdued strawberry red hair. Plus the deep v-neck and fitted waist flatters her tall slim figure wonderfully. She just looks so youthful and fresh.

20's Bohemian

Cat Deeley in Dior: 6/10

The host of So You Think You Can Dance? took a note from Nicole Kidman's book, and wore a light blue hue as well. This one, however, doesn't quite work. While I am a huge fan of Cat's style and massive vintage designer collection, this ill-fitting Dior gown flunks out for me. I like the idea of a 20's like drop-waist, but then the dress should have been knee length. Also the fabric looks messy like bedsheets. Love the wavy golden hair though.

Top Summer Styles

Great street and red-carpet looks from my celeb stylistas. My favorites from the bunch? Emma's casual spin on Louis Vuitton; Drew's retro throw back; Claire's sexy minimalistic look; and Blake's fun and flirty Chanel summer sundress.

The Costume Institute's American Woman Gala

Silver Siren:
Nicole Richie unearths her glamorous side while still keeping her Bohemian vibe in this liquid like gown by Marc Jabobs. Her dark hair and makeup match perfectly against the fluidity of the dress. You can always count on Nicole to stay true to her self!

Plum Perfect:
The catwalk's fiercest model, Karlie Kloss, looks stunning in her purple Donna Karan gown, swept back hair and gold statement necklace. So classic and refined, Karlie stands out on one of fashion's toughest red carpet.

Versace Vixen:
Alessandra Ambrosio's drop dead gorgeous figure is shown to its best in this pale pink Slinky Versace gown. Sexy makeup and a striking pose can only be pulled off by a veteran model like her.

Lady in Red:
Camilla Belle is one of my favorite celebs in terms of fashion. She always is changing it up and can pull off looks ranging from sexy to risky to classic. At the Met Camilla choose this beautiful eye-popping red gown by Jason Wu (pictured next to her). With her dewy makeup, olive complexion and savvy style sense, Camilla is statuesque at every red carpet she walks down.

Dreamboat:
Emma Watson is such a fashionista, and I always look forward to seeing what she'll wear next. Here she wore Burberry, the design label she models for. I adore the one-shoulder and slightly ruffled structure and her hair/makeup pulls the look together nicely. Even though she isn't an "American Woman" per say, Emma certainly is a fine British woman and definitely one to watch.

Calvin's Angels:
Calvin Klein is for sure a classic American line, so it was fitting that it be worn on this red carpet. Always stylish Zoe Saldana and Diane Kruger wear their gowns so well here. I love the long sleeves, luxurious solid hues and simple yet stunning accessories.

Short and Sassy:
OMG, Gossip Girl here....S at the Met and boy does she look good. Blake Lively, wearing an intricately detailed Marchesa mini, shows off her stems and her toned figure. With a bod like hers, no wonder she choose to go short. And at a red carpet where so many went with the floor length gown, this look is absolutely refreshing and memorable.

Style STARs: Gossip Girl Edition

On and off set the stars of Gossip Girl never fail to impress, each one with their own distinct style. It seems to me that either Blake, Leighton and Taylor are taking inspiration from their characters on the show or they themselves are the inspirations for the characters. Either way we can always expect the latest fashions and coolest trends from these girls. Leighton's character Blair is the epitome of preppy and prissy, and even though Leighton herself sometimes dresses that way, she always tries to distance herself from Blair's persona. Blake Lively's character Serena is all sexy and chic which Blake herself brings to the red carpet as well. Everything looks so great on her, especially this Victoria Beckam dress she's wearing above. And finally, "little Jenny" isn't so little anymore, on the show and off. Taylor own rocker style in real life has influenced her character's on set with studs, leather, legs and all. Gossip Girl is truly the only show where I look forward to each episode's looks as well as the stars' looks off camera. keep it up B, S and T!
